Assembly Minister to Visit as Cathedral Appeal Reaches Second Birthday

Following the surprise resignation of Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM, late on Friday night (18th July), as Minister for Heritage the planned Ministerial visit to learn more about the restoration programme for Newport Cathedral has been postponed until a new minister is appointed.

Cathedral Appeal goes to the House of Lords

The High Sheriff of Gwent, Mrs Judith Child JP is to organise a Lunch in the House of Lords in aid of Newport Cathedral’s Restoration Appeal.

Church and University create new post for student care

The Diocese of Monmouth and the University of Wales, Newport, have announced the appointment of Reverend Mark Soady, BTh RMN SSC CF(V), as chaplain to the University.

Scaffolding Erected Again

Scaffolding has again been erected today (Monday June 2nd 2008) inside Newport Cathedral as part of the ongoing restoration on the building.
