Knightsbridge comes to Newport on November 30th as the St Woolos Cathedral Appeal aims to raise more money towards the £2.5m needed to restore the historic cathedral buildings.
Based on the Advent in Knightsbridge event held in the first week in December at St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, which has a reputation for high class church music, the St Woolos evening will feature readings and music.
Rebecca John, Nick Webb and Rob Philips from the BBC and Matthew Butler, a former aid to the Prince of Wales, will be giving the readings and Advent and Christmas music will be performed by the Cathedral Choir and the choir of the school of St John’s-on-the-Hill.
The concert at the Cathedral, which starts at 7pm, will be followed by a champagne reception held at the west wing of the Newport Civic Centre. Tickets are £25 each with a special offer of £20 for purchases of 10 tickets or more and all proceeds go to the St Woolos Cathedral Appeal.
