Scaffolding has again been erected today (Monday June 2nd 2008) inside Newport Cathedral as part of the ongoing restoration on the building.
Emergency work carried out during phase 1 of the restoration to prevent water ingress at the 1960’s build East End was successful. “This means that it is now possible for us to re-plaster and paint the Chancel Arch at a cost of around £4,000″, said Fr Mark Soady.
