Sponsored Climb to the Roof of the World!

News date published: 7th March 2008

The latest fund raising event for the Cathedral Roof is a sponsored climb up to the roof of the world: Everest - well perhaps not exactly!

From the Visitor Centre in Cwmcarn Forest Drive to the top of Twm Barlwm is a climb of 1000 feet. Mount Everest is 29,000 feet tall. If at least 29 of climb Twm Barlwm, they will have climbed the equivalent of Everest in aid of the Cathedral Appeal!

Fr Mark Soady said, “We would like to have a Sponsored climb up to the roof of the world, but it is not practical so why not 29 climbers up to the top of the local high point”.

The event will take place on the afternoon of Saturday June 21st, if you want to be part of the team climbing please call the Appeal Office.
