Some good news and some bad news!!

News date published: 9th March 2009

The Dean, Dr Richard Fenwick writes:

First the bad: The Cathedral’ well-known architect, Michael Davies, has told me that the roof is approaching a critical state and work should began on reparing it as soon as poosible. The cost of repairs is expected to be in excess of £1.5m.

Now the good news: Mr John Child, Managing Director of a leading local accountancy firm has taken over as Chairman of the Emergency Campaign.  His wife, Mrs Judith Child, who stands down on April 8th as Her Majesty’s High Sheriff for Gwent, will become Vice Chairman.I am very grateful to both John and Judith Child for taking on these leadership roles within the campaign, and there by strengthening the team.
